Hi,

I'm with an MSP and we have several Linux clients. However, we need to be able to control the update schedules of different clients differently. From what I can tell, the updates are an all or nothing option. I'm not seeing any way to control what gets updated or how often. Also, I can't find any documentation, if this is something that would be covered in the documentation.

Also very interested in this, just bought this plugin as a option for patching linux systems, but not of our Linux systems are managed so can't have it just updating across the board need some control for induvial systems.

LUM was designed to allow MSPs that didn't have a large Linux department a means to manage Linux without a lot of knowledge or experience with Linux. This is why LUM does not come with a lot of updating options like schedules and application approvals. You can however exclude Linux agents from auto updates using the LUM EDF of the agent as seen in image below. This causes agent to be skipped when Auto update services kick off (12 am).

Is there a way or can an EDF be added to exclude a whole client, as the issue we have is we have a few specialized clients that we cannot update, and need a way to exclude the whole client, in case they without telling us add a new linux box, just a thought.

There is a video included on website that shows you the basics of how it operates. It's for unlimited agents so you can use it easily across your environment.

Windows and Mac package managers (Chocolatey and Homebrew) update 3rd party software, but the Linux portion updates all of Linux using YUM or AptGet .

Very flexible and goes a bit further with Linux base on how Linux package management works.

so does next generation package management plugin, require us to also have the linux update manager or does it handle patching for linux servers itself?

It's all inclusive. You only need the new plug-in.
