Issues updating Server 2008 R2 WUA

Hello,

Im having a few issues that hopefully I can get some assistance with.
  • Patch Remedy is reporting I have 2008 R2 Standard x64 bit servers at WUA version 7.6.7601.23806
  • According to the MAX version this should be 7.9.9600.17489
  • I have been down the road of attempting repairs and updating to latest but nothing works
Upon closer inspection I found PatchRemedy was putting this file here: C:\Windows\LTSvc\PatchRemedy\windows6.1-kb4025337.msu
-and-
my Event Log had these errors: Windows update could not be installed because of error 2359302 "" (Command line: "wusa c:\windows\ltsvc\PatchRemedy\windows6.1-kb4025337.msu /quiet /norestart")

After some googling and trying to run that file manually I've come to the conclusion I already have it installed and the update is not applicable.

Soooo my question is if Im telling Patch Remedy to "Update to the latest" why is putting this file on there that I already have and not taking me up the higher 7.9 version.

help?

Just FYI

7.9.9600.17489 is Windows 2012 R2 not Windows 2008R2

The current MAX WUA for Win2008 R2 is WUA version 7.6.7601.23806

Here is in my confusion.

Inside Patch Remedy these Server 2008 R2 Standard x64 servers keep getting flagged as not having the most recent WUA version and its continuing to try to update it. BUT if it is already at the latest version why does it show up in my list at the bottom under the WUA tab in the first place?

Also, why does the chart show the Most Current Version of a Server 2008 R2 Standard x64 agent is 7.9.9600.17489 ?

What am I missing here? I dont think this server should even be in the list below if its WUA is up to date but best I can tell is patch remedy thinks it should be at the 7.9 version.

AH,

you have corrupted data
quick fix is to flush the WUA and MAX-WUA tables
and allow a rescan or 2
here is what you do
open SQLYog and paste the following lines into the SQL editor, then execute those lines.

Code: Select all

TRUNCATE `labtech`.`plugin_sw_patch_remedy_wua`;

TRUNCATE `labtech`.`plugin_sw_patch_remedy_maxwua`;

close and reopen Patch Remedy and data will be gone, allow 1 or 2 scans to take place and data will return
