These are fresh installs, never had Choclatey on them before so whatever the latest one is 10-something

That's a pain then. If choco.exe goes walkabout, the Chocolatey script won't fix it and none of the apps will ever update! Are you *sure* that's where portable apps go? Looks to me like it is needed!
I'm in the process of writing an Automate script to do this but if the plugin can be made more robust and self healing then that would be the sensible option.

It returns 2796 which is the ID of the Automate server which is called Automate and does not appear in the list.

The folder "C:\ProgramData\chocolatey" is empty apart from an empty folder called "lib" I guess the Chocolatey script sees the folder and assumes it's all OK but your script looks for the .exe Just confirmed that theory. I ran the Chocolatey default install script and got the sam...

After another round of uninstalling, rebooting the Automate server (Followed by a complete loss of connectivity to the Control server which wasted a morning) and another install of the plugin, this error seems to have gone again, for now.
