Build 1.0.5.7 now released

Post by Cubert »

We have a few delayed startup issues with 1.0.5.6 that caused some confusion in whether it was functioning as it should. The problem was that the missing agent addition function was failing to add new agents as you navigated the plugin for the first time. So it then required the automated script to run at midnight before the plugin got "seeded". This delay was unexpected.

So we fixed the issue, we actually improved the function in the process to make it faster and less load adding agents as you navigate each client. We had created the Main menu but did not actually assign any functions to the menu items. this is now corrected. The main menu will have a global effect on agents.

Lastly we added a splash screen to the startup of the plugin so you do not see empty charts on the main tab until agent data starts to arrive.

All scanner functions are now working as expected and the plugin will refresh its data and views every 30 seconds so you do not need to close and reopen plugin to see changes in the environment.

Lots of cool stuff in this build!

Much better - Question what does the (PR) mean under the disabled services. (PR) Auto Updates what is this disabling?

Anything with (PR) in front of it means this is something that the plugin (Patch Remedy) is doing directly in Automate and not some other service like Windows Update Assistant or ConnectWise Patch services.

So (PR) Auto Updates is the Patch Remedy Auto Update services. Do you want Patch Remedy to schedule and force patch updates? A check says NO, do not patch systems via Patch Remedy. This goes along with setting the Update Schedule (Weekly or Monthly)

Patch Remedy = just the scanning and reporting on the current status of agents. No patches or fixes are pushed to agents. passive scans only.

(PR) OS Upgrades tells Patch Remedy whether or not to enable OS upgrades. Here is what to understand with this control.
If you are scheduling a OS Upgrade for an agent or client for the same day then this setting does not apply to that schedule. If you schedule the upgrades for a later date then if this check box is checked this agent will be skipped when schedule is due. So you can use it as a last minute turn off or as a excluder from a global schedule. Example would be t have 100 agents upgrade but leave a few that do not. Use the client to schedule the upgrade date then clear checkbox at client level and enable checkbox at the agents to excludes level.
