How to use Surflog in Automate
In Surflog 2.0 we have added a few new features. We have updated the collection process to make it faster per agent. We now look for and get updated versions of BHV when available. We have brought in EDGE, Yandex, Moon and Chromium browser identification support to support the newer versions of BHV. We removed all the DEV Express dependencies making the install and use of plugin seamless. We also transitioned the UI to better support ConnectWise Automate.
After you have successfully installed the plugin into ConnectWise Automate, restarted the DBagent and logged out and back into you Control Center you are ready to start using SurfLog for Automate.
By default no data collection is taking place until you enable a client. Then it becomes a client by client enablement process. This protects you from unwanted collections due to misconfigured or under configured clients.
To enable a client, launch the Client Console and Select the Configure button at the top of the window.
This will allow you to select to enable the collection services and for how long you desire to keep the data in Automate. The range is from 7 days to 90 days. You can also place a comma separated list of keywords you would like to highlight in the history logs. This brings text like (Sex, Drugs, Rock&Roll) to the forefront of the logs.
Once you have enable your client, you can open agent windows under that client and disable collections for any agent. By default all agents are enabled when a client is enabled. Select the Exclude button to exclude agent from all collections. When an agent is excluded, the button will say Include, when Included it will say Exclude.
Collections are automated and should start up every 6 hours to make sure its getting regular updates from agents. You can manually execute a scan by selecting the Refresh button. Once data begins to flow you will start to see data populating the charts and log viewer.
See each agents activity by user profile. Sort on all fields and detect keywords with highlighted rows in history viewer.
The Export button will product a Excel CSV file on your local workstation in the C:\temp directory. zit will display this file to you with options to open now if needed.
