Currently our Alert Message on failure and success states the following:
%STATUS% on %CLIENTNAME%\%COMPUTERNAME% at %LOCATIONNAME% for %FIELDNAME% result %RESULT%.
unfortunately this is not helpful as this does not tell us what the issue with the particular ESX host is.
Is there a variable that does include this information such as CPU power modules or CPU failure?
Is there a way to change the alert message on success or failure to specify what is alerting?
Re: Is there a way to change the alert message on success or failure to specify what is alerting?
Sure can, the alert is just an internal monitor. You can modify, copy and make any change you like to the monitors.

Hi Cubert,
I have had to edit what the internal Alert says and explained in the alert HOW to check what parts have failed but is there any Variable that can state what component has an error status?
i.e. the Fan PSU2 etc?

Welcome to the limits of the monitors.
Here is a great How-to from Gav that helps explain how to setup a RAWSQL monitor

This should help some.
