I am curious about a few things. Is this compatible with the new patching structure in LabTech 11? Will this fix empty patch window issues? Does this fix missing service pack issues?

Yes you can use it with LabTech 11 in either patch mode.

Just a little about Patch Remedy. Patch Remedy (PR) is a set of tools, a scanner, a data miner and some automated tasks all rolled up in a single pane of glass for MSPs to use to assist in Patch Management with LabTech. PR is not a patch engine nor does it patch systems, that is the task of LabTech’s patch manager and your approval policies set inside of LabTech. What PR does do is scan your clients Windows systems for current WUA versions and brings that data into LabTech, PR provides an auto updater that will look for systems that are reporting WUA out of date and will attempt to update WUA to the latest versions on file. It updates WUA using the “ no reboot” switch so that the automation does not directly affect end users. When a user reboots system, maintenance reboots system or you setup an automated or manual reboot process for systems the WUA will update and on next scan will report as current. If you need a more forceful install you can use the right click menus items marked “with Reboot” that will remove the “no reboot” flags during installs. We also provide under the config tab a “pre maintenance reboot” check box that if set and the systems are reporting a pending reboot and the location where PC is at is set to have a maintenance window then we will reboot systems at the beginning of that maintenance window, automating the reboots for you.

Any menu item that references a repair or anything other than “Update WUA *” is a tool that can be used to try in repair WUA, Windows Update Caches, Check and reset windows controls over patching systems and different diags based on community input. These tools may or may not assist you in repairs based on what issues the systems are having. We do not update WUA for Windows 10, Microsoft has not released a standalone WUA update for Windows 10 so to get updates you must patch Windows 10 via Labtech until MS releases a standalone update.

The data miner goes out and looks over all the LabTech data returned from the Patch Manager, DBagent, Agent logs and systems notes to pull out all the information available about LabTechs current patching. We provide graphs and data views so you can see into what LabTech is doing and from here exercise tools to try and correct the issues and get LabTech patching PCs again. If you do not have your LabTech patching setup correctly and it trying to do its job then PR will not help you much. Any fixes the PR does will not get used by LabTech and patching issues will still exist.

We have a great video of PR being deployed and used, explained in detail how we use the tool to identify and resolve problems. If you have not had a chance to review this it may be worth a look.
