Upgrade Assistant Feature Request - De-scheduling/Deassigning

Post by rshaw.golden »

I was getting some of our clients set up for an upcoming upgrade night and I ran into a couple things that would be very nice - the ability to de-schedule and to de-assign policies.

When you're working with enough machines, it's possible for a machine you don't want scheduled to slip in when you're mass scheduling. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to remove these currently without database diving, though you can assign a dummy policy of course that does nothing.

Similarly, while you can assign machines that finished upgrading a dummy policy to make it easier to schedule via policy, there doesn't seem to be any way to un-assign a policy except by replacing it with another one. Unless this is a safety measure to prevent issues from trying to schedule something without a policy attached, it'd be nice to be able to unset machines back to no policy.

Also in the "nice to have" department, ability to filter by OS or client other than by sorting and scrolling would help in improving usability and allow for quicker configuration(and lowered chance of mistakes).

We can add the ability to remove policies, not sure why we wouldn't of put that in there in the first place.

This has now been added to 1.0.0.60 build of Habitat.

Due out tonight.
